Structure, roles, decisions, rhythm and pay, given the same eye you give to your brand and products.
So it grows beyond you, without losing what makes it yours.

I wanted a theory of the organisation with a womb, a nervous system and a fucking backbone.
I admire women who want the whole thing: a company with serious commercial ambition, people who are glad to work there, and a life beyond keeping it all standing. It is not too much to want. It is simply demanding to design.
I have spent nearly twenty years discovering just how demanding. As a Chief Operating Officer and Advisor for the last 10 years, I helped companies triple their revenue, sustainably increase their profit, build trust and keep great people. I also learned how easily caring about everything becomes carrying everything. I read the books, I tried the models, yet I kept turning to nature with the questions I couldn’t settle at work: to the nervous system for our meeting rhythms, to soil when another culture initiative changed very little, and to the torus to rethink career development and the hierarchical org chart. Most of the business advice I read then, and still read now, is cut from the same template: built for numbers and speed, another hack to learn by Monday. It left me excited and quietly stressed, and it never treated a company as something alive. Just another thing you could manipulate and extract from.
When my daughter started forest school, I finally had a little room in my days to give two decades of thinking and designing a form I could share. That became Phyli. Someone once told me I wasn’t good enough at art to make a living. This book is my reply: the most beautiful book you’ll own, made to sit beside your hardest business decisions. I see no reason to leave beauty outside the boardroom.
I am making it for women who recognise that appetite, who care about the numbers, the people and the texture of the life they are building. Wanting the whole thing is where we begin; the work is in how we design it.
I’m Faye. I design companies.
I help founders scale with care: companies that make money and stay human, and can grow without grinding down the people inside them. You included.
I help you look at how your company actually works: who decides, what people quietly carry, where expectations go unspoken, and what happens when the pressure rises. Together, we work out what needs a clearer agreement, a different role, more support, or room to stop.
I read a company the way I’d read a living system: how it grows, where pressure travels, what it is quietly compensating for, and what its structure and capacity need to become to carry the ambition you have for it.
The frameworks I use are my own, developed over twenty years inside growing companies and translated from the living world. Some of them will change how you think about careers, pay and hierarchy for good.
I teach, investigate, advise and design. You stay in charge of your company. I help you see it whole, and design what comes next.
You might be choosing your first employee, finding your feet with a small team, or realising the arrangements you started with no longer fit.
The business is working. Running it is getting more complex.
Your customers get handwritten notes. Your team gets whatever is left of you. You hired help. Somehow you got busier. You never set out to be a boss, and no one trained you for it. Now several people are waiting for you to act like one. The brand has a tone-of-voice guide. The company runs on your voice notes. Everyone agrees in the meeting. You find out what they really think on WhatsApp. Pay has started to feel like a verdict on who you value. You hired your best friend. Now you can’t tell her the work isn’t right.
And still, you want more.
You want a date night where the business doesn’t pull up a chair. You want your daughter to see you run something beautiful, and still have time for her. You want the company to carry your taste without needing your touch on everything. You want more people to know your brand, and the people inside it to be proud of what they know. You want to be the founder people say was the best they ever worked for.
You want it all. The company, the people, the life.
You’re right to.

The Full Reading
Everything in the Founder’s Reading, plus a 45-minute conversation with each of up to four people in your team. A company looks different from every chair in it. This is how I see it from more than one.
Readings are invoiced and paid before we meet.
The Glasshouse keeps me alongside you for a season: two sessions a month, one of which can be joining an internal meeting of yours. Four companies at a time.
Rare. Worth opening. Never filler.
Everything I teach comes from a larger body of work. Phyli is my house: twelve volumes reading a company’s inner life through the living world, made with the care usually reserved for art. The Founding Manuscript arrives in 2027.
